What’s the difference between these upper control arms?
We just want to tell you that these upper control arms only differ in the ball joints.
Both of the 2014-2018 Sierra and Silverado have double wishbone suspensions. However, they differ in material and appearance, which is reflected in the upper&lower control arms and steering knuckle.
GM cars have three different kinds of upper control arms:
forged steel
Stamped steel and aluminum
Although the front suspension is made of different materials, the structure of the suspension and the dimensions of each accessory are almost the same.
The steering knuckles used in the Stamped Steel and Aluminum versions are different from those used in the forged version, and therefore the diameter of the ball joint is also different, which means that the Silverado and Sierra, the twin models, are designed with two different sizes of ball joint pins.
But don't worry, KSP has developed two different upper control arms to solve this problem. They could fit the 2014-2018 Sierra 1500 and Silverado 1500.
How to choose the right upper control arms?
We all know that the OE upper control arms are not sufficient to support the front suspension of a vehicle lifted more than 2''.
The performance of the KSP upper control arm is higher than the OE control arm. It can provide greater support force, pull-off resistance and wider ball joints swing range. Therefore, the KSP upper control arms are more suitable for off-road modifications.
If you want to adapt your suspension to the lifted height, you can choose KSP upper control arms according to the following tips:
3C293055-200—Forged steel
3C293055-300—Stamped steel or aluminum
The car with the stamped steel or the aluminum upper control arms use the same steering knuckle, which means they can use the same ball joints.
